It’s been a few months since I changed energy supplier. And since I don’t do things by halves, it was done for electricity and for gas. The reason? Economical of course! Indeed, why continue to pay more when you can have the same thing at a lower price ? A few years ago, the idea would never have even crossed my mind! And yet, I have now taken the plunge and gone over to the dark side… 🙂
2014 was for Madame and myself the year of awareness. We decided to take control of our finances, with the idea of not fundamentally changing our habits. You have already been able to discover some examples if you have been following the blog for some time. This year, for example, we replaced one of our vehicles with the use of public transport and changed car insurance for the family car. Race results? We have already saved almost €100 per month , which is still €1,200 for the year, enough to afford a short trip or other at the end of the year! 🙂
And it is with this same objective and therefore this idea of saving on our monthly expenses that we decided to change energy supplier. Indeed, why stop on such a good path? 🙂 For us, it will therefore be a change for electricity and for gas!
It was a bit of our fear before embarking on this “construction site”: what are the steps to follow to get rid of your energy supplier? Isn’t that too restrictive? What is the existing risk on the quality of the service provided by separating from historical suppliers? So many questions and potential obstacles to this change of direction. But concretely, what does it give?
In the end, the steps to follow are very simple and are within everyone’s reach.
And that’s where the magic happens… Indeed, once your registration has been completed and validated, you have nothing more to do. Do not terminate your existing subscriptions, your new supplier will take care of it for you. Do not change your habits. And a fortnight later, without you realizing anything, without a cut, you are at your new supplier. Simple, as I said!
On our side, without wanting to advertise, it has now been 4 months since we successfully moved to Direct Energie. As I said a little earlier, everything took place in a totally transparent way, both for electricity and for gas. The service rendered is identical, that is to say impeccable. No cuts at the change of supplier, no incident since. In short, from the point of view of service and ease of implementation, it is faultless!
But from a financial point of view, what does it give then? Because that’s what led us to this change!
In the end, therefore, €264 will be saved each year, with a saving of €304 the first year thanks to the 2 points specified above. In conclusion, a service rendered of identical quality to the historical suppliers, simple and accessible procedures , and hundreds of euros in savings at stake: why deprive yourself of it?
