Why am I a happy investor?

We are in September 2018. I have been what you could call a happy investor for a few months now. Accompanied by my charming wife, I quietly enjoy a little homemade cocktail on my terrace . Children on weekends play a little further in the garden. The embers crackle in the barbecue. I get up to go quickly check the cooking of the meal…

I think of those people who tomorrow will get up to go to work. This was still my case a short time ago, at the beginning of the year. But now I don’t need to do that anymore. I now work from home. I work little. I may need three to four short hours to check a few files. But over a week, it’s very little. Maybe five. But not more. When I told you I was a happy investor But it wasn’t always like this…

Why am I a happy investor?

But let’s go back a few years. It all started in January 2014. Galvanized by the euphoria of the aftermath of the holidays, I decided for the first time in my life to take control of my finances . To do this, I activate two levers in particular:

For those who haven’t understood, this is obviously the blog you’re reading 🙂 .

With hindsight, my objectives at the time clearly lacked precision. I had not really defined an action plan to achieve this. No step had been clearly identified. No schedule, no milestone had been set. No doubt the intoxication of novelty.

Or the drunkenness of the aftermath of parties perhaps… Who knows? 😉

In short, at the time, the idea of financial independence and the concept of a happy investor had not yet begun to germinate in my mind. Far from there.

The key objective for 2014 was to embark on rental investment. Lured by reading different information on the subject, it was decided that I would invest in a building of investment.

As long as you invest, you might as well think big from the start!

I’ll spare you my various adventures on the subject, but it was therefore during May 2014 that I became the owner of three apartments, with a positive gross monthly cash flow of more than €300. It was not easy. Sometimes I still have to manage a few points here and there: a change of tenant, a neighborhood dispute, etc. But ultimately, reported over a year, the time spent managing this investment remains very low.

It was in the month that followed that I realized that it was really possible to generate, concretely and in the short or medium term, other income than that of my salary . To break this 100% dependence on my employer. To become, by working correctly and with methodology, a happy and freer investor.

Because if I can make money with a rental investment, what prevents me from continuing on this path? And what’s stopping you from doing it too?

But let’s not go too fast. Let’s wait at least a year to validate this model. To verify that investing in real estate is a track that must continue to be explored. However, very quickly, I felt like reinvesting again.

So here I am torn between this irresistible desire to launch a new project and reason, which forces me to wait to have a little more perspective before continuing the adventure. So I continue my research, I train here and there on different subjects . And then… Eureka!

Why not start a project to earn money, but in another field? The stock market attracts me, but I need some capital to get started. But let’s think a little… I have already started a blog. And I seem to have read here and there that it was possible to earn a living thanks to the internet. Or at least to generate interesting additional income. I then hear about niche sites. Three blogs in particular convince me to start, three sites carried by people who seem to live from these internet gains. Becoming a happy (and rich! 😉 ) investor and waiting to see the euros fall without doing anything is more than tempting, isn’t it?

As a gift, here are the links to these three sites that greatly inspired me and encouraged me to get started in niche sites and in the internet business. In no order of priority, here they are:

They are not the only ones, but they were certainly powerful catalysts in my approach. Thanks to them !

In my turn, I started in the field. The goal? Launch a niche site and monetize it. Earn 100€ each month with this one in a year. Result ? The target is reached and exceeded in 8 months. Truthful. I didn’t even really know what a niche site was a few months ago.

But back on topic. So we are in 2018. I am a happy and satisfied investor . For what ? Because I am no longer dependent on my job. Better, I left this one at the beginning of the year.

How did I get here? By the magic of the internet of course! No just kidding. I got there by working. By training myself. Looking for what to invest in. By taking action.

If I had to remember only a few key dates, I will remember four:

I have since multiplied the investments on these three pillars. I have dozens of websites. Half a dozen properties. Actions in several companies, covering multiple areas. I am no longer dependent on a single source of income . I told you in the introduction to this article: I am a happy investor.

In turn, do you want to become a happy and accomplished investor? In 2018 or earlier? I have only one thing to advise you: get started now!
