What work carried out at your home is eligible for the energy bonus?

Have you already started renovating your home to meet state energy requirements and want to know if you can take advantage of the energy bonus? Discover the types of work to be carried out; work that will allow you to benefit from this bonus. You will then obtain a reimbursement of your expenses and will be able to claim, later, a significant reduction in your energy consumption. Note that the work in question must be carried out by a professional. Without further ado, find out the details of the work that conditions the granting of the energy bonus and make the connection with what you have already done.

The quality of insulation is essential when you want to save energy in the building sector. It all starts with the insulation of the attic where the insulation installed must be ACERMI certified. Insulation with a Technical Application Document or a Technical Assessment issued by CSTB is also approved. Different criteria are also taken into account, in particular the brand of insulation, its thermal resistance or even its thickness. The same criteria are applied for wall insulation (outside and inside), flat roof insulation and floor insulation.

After the insulation, work must also be carried out with regard to the production of heat. To heat your home, you have the choice between a gas boiler, an oil boiler or a wood pellet boiler. For the first two types of boiler, only condensing models are accepted. If you choose the wood pellet boiler, only buy a class 5 model, meeting the NF EN 303.5 standard and able to offer an efficiency greater than or equal to 85%.

You can also choose a heat pump for heating your home. It can be an air-air, air-water or geothermal pump. For the air-air heat pump, the seasonal coefficient of performance must be greater than or equal to 3.9. For the air-water model, this coefficient should be 3.4 or more. Ditto for the geothermal heat pump. The professional in charge of the installation must mention his QualiPac number in the invoice.

To produce heat in your home, the use of a fireplace insert, a wood pellet stove or a log stove is also suitable. If you choose one of these heat sources, check that it offers an efficiency greater than or equal to 70%. Only a professional holder of the QUALIBOIS appellation must carry out the installation if you want to claim the energy bonus.

If you have not chosen an air-air or air-water heat pump for heating, you must use another device that uses renewable energy. A solar water heater or a thermodynamic water heater is then a good choice. If you choose a thermodynamic water heater, check that the model’s Coefficient of performance meets the EN 16147 standard.

All this work must be carried out in full compliance with the conditions imposed by the French government in terms of energy performance in order for the energy bonus to be granted.
