Many of you end your months in bank overdraft or at least have an extremely low amount of money in your bank account. Did you know that there are some simple but oh so effective gestures to better manage your money on a day-to-day basis? Here is a review of everything that can help you end your month in a more comfortable way.
First of all, do you know how much you spend per month on your various subscriptions? When are they taken? When do your cash inflows take place? This question may seem silly and yet it is very important! Some applications allow you to easily manage your budget, we are thinking in particular of the very famous Bankin and Linxo apps.
If you don’t want to bother installing an application, you can also create an Excel or OpenOffice spreadsheet, the advantage will be that you can add comments and various additional information. The goal is to know which days or weeks are the most difficult for you and thus adjust your expenses.
Of course, the spreadsheet you will have created will not only be used to track your expenses but also to analyze everything that enters and leaves your bank account. You will be able to check if you do not have duplicates in terms of insurance, pension expenses, mutual insurance or others.
Also remember to look at the details of your various bills to find out whether or not you should keep a subscription or change supplier. The most obvious examples are of course the telephone and electricity.
Is it wise to pay for an unlimited package when you hardly ever call? Why not switch to a simple package at €2 per month from Orange or Free and thus save €220 per year?
For your electricity consumption, isn’t it better to change supplier? Is EDF the cheapest supplier on the market or the cheapest depending on the hours when you mainly consume electricity? It is of course not a question of being stingy but simply of managing your expenses efficiently.
Finally, it is important to remember that you can save money on a daily basis and not just by cutting your various subscriptions.
First of all, for your current expenses, remember to check that your supermarket is the cheapest and do not hesitate to browse two or three stores a week to do your shopping. You can save a few tens of euros. You can also go on the internet and do your shopping on the different drives around your home. It is certain that you will lose a few minutes to order on different websites but these few lost minutes will probably turn into a few hundred euros saved each year.
Finally, for your more exceptional expenses and your miscellaneous purchases on the internet, think about systematically looking for a reduction voucher. Only a third of online shoppers think about it and yet discount coupons can save you a lot of money. To find them, nothing could be simpler, go to Google and write “promo code + shop” or “cashback + shop” and you will have access to several thousand sites such as IGraal, Radins.com, NosPromos, Ma-Reduc, … All offer thousands of discount coupons.
