We are already in September. I hope you have enjoyed your summer holidays. The weather was pretty nice, right? In any case, it’s time for a new assessment, time to see if I’m getting closer, or not, to my goal: to generate 500€ in income per month thanks to the internet at the end of the year. !
There are already only four months left before 2016, so I will have to adjust, or confirm, my strategy in order to reach this ambitious target. We will talk about it at the end of the article. But before that, let’s see what we could give these two summer months, more conducive to pleasure and idleness than to compulsive shopping.
What a sense of suspense!
Ten months. It’s already been ten months since I launched my first site! Time flies. Simple test to validate the relevance of the “niche site” model to generate additional income, I quickly changed my tune. From the second month of its life, I received my first euros. In January, this conclusive test was going to be the trigger to define my target for the end of 2015, the famous €500 per month.
During the previous review, I happily crossed the €100 mark in May, to finish just a dozen euros above last June. I mentioned my fear of not being able to stay the course for the months of July and August, less “sellers” for the niche I am targeting. My main keyword is also less used over this period, with a monthly search volume of just over 9,000 . It will be the same for September. Before a slight increase in October. But especially before the year-end surges when my main KW is close to 30,000 searches per month. Not to mention that the Christmas period is much more sold!
I have high hopes of making excellent figures over this period, knock on wood! 🙂
But let’s continue. Logically, let’s start with July. I must say that I’m quite happy with myself, because I managed to maintain almost the same turnover as in June. With €113.95 in July against €111.46 the previous month, this is the third consecutive month above €100 . The distribution between Adsense and Amazon affiliate earnings remains substantially the same, with just under €35 on one side and almost €80 on the other.
In August, visits fell slightly 🙁 . Between 6% and 8%, for no particular reason. Nothing alarming but the point is to watch all the same.
On the Amazon side, the gains amount to €102.10. An increase of twenty euros compared to July despite a lower number of visits, which could be linked to the adjustments made to the Call to action and therefore synonymous with a better conversion rate. To be confirmed over the coming months, I will keep you informed. On the Adsense side, the gains are on the other hand down to €24.75. That is a total of €126.85 for the month of August .

As for the actions carried out, I mentioned my wish to place an order for a few additional items. This is what I have done with ten new articles, which have been scheduled for publication until mid-October. They will come regularly to extend the long tail of the site.
On the side of the positioning, nothing to report. Still ranked #1 on my main keyword , and still ranked high on some secondary KWs at over a thousand monthly searches.
On the referencing side, my positions still seem to be well established, no particular action is planned. Maybe I will try in a while to work on the positioning of some secondary KWs.
But the site being rather in “passive income” mode and me in “lazy” but “busy” mode on other projects, I can’t guarantee anything on this item!
By the end of the year, unless there is a problem, I just plan to order a few items. I will then publish them at the rate of one per month. Or maybe less, to see. The idea is to maintain news on the site, spending less than a few hours per month.
I had mentioned not wanting to launch new sites before September. Objective missed, since an additional site is online. It targets a niche that I was planning to launch a little later, but I finally preferred to anticipate its launch, in order to take advantage of the seniority of the domain more quickly to improve SEO. This is a site that targets a completely new theme for me. I don’t have any knowledge in the area. But the yields offered by the affiliation are much more significant than those of my first site, even if the search volume is much lower. A first salvo of half a dozen items has been ordered. Everything is being published.
As expected, new articles have been published or are awaiting publication on several sites. I had to work on the Google positioning of two sites, I finally did a little more. But the effort is to be continued to hope to start obtaining interesting positions.
In terms of gains, one of the sites launched at the end of last June is already bearing its first fruits:
To be confirmed in the coming months knowing that I had not started my SEO actions… It was perhaps a stroke of luck, we will know more in the coming months.

For the next two months, the key word should be SEO. Because if the content is the “easy” part, since it suffices (or almost…) to outsource the writing, it is different for SEO. I intend to focus almost exclusively on this item for September and October. On the program, I think to mix a little:
And yes, I intend to see if it is also possible to outsource SEO-related tasks ! These being extremely time-consuming, it would clearly be a luxury to be able to outsource it. I will therefore launch a test on a first site. Again, I’ll keep you posted on the results.
Finally, I still think to order some additional articles for some sites that are still a little poor in content.
Let’s be direct. Even if the figures are progressing, I am still far from 500€. If I want to reach the goal by the end of the year, I will have to adjust my trajectory . To do this, as I just mentioned a little above, I will now focus on SEO. No launch of new sites before at least one of the sites already in place manages to bring back a few tens of euros per month on a regular basis.
Concretely, since the beginning of the year, I have received just over €1,200 thanks to the internet . Admittedly, this is a significant sum. Smoothed over the first eight months of the year, this gives us €150 per month.
There is still a long way to go.
It’s my fault if I’m “only” there. A little euphoric following the excellent figures of my first site, I favored the creation of new sites and content, to the detriment of the actions necessary for a good positioning with our very dear Google. The work done is not wasted, on the contrary. But I neglected the creation of inbound links to these sites, a necessary condition for occupying the top positions of the search engine results pages.
Anyway, I have to get back to work!
