Already at the beginning of November. It feels like summer has just ended and yet Christmas is already knocking on our doors! But hey, if you’re here, it’s not to listen to me talk about my feelings about the speed at which time passes! Unless… 🙂 No, today is the time for our regular meeting to discuss together my progress on niche sites . What’s new since the end of August? What actions could well have been launched? And even more, bunch of curious little ones, what results?
For once, I will (again…) adjust the formalism of this article. I think that the idea of making a first part devoted to my first niche site, then a second to “other subjects”, is no longer necessarily relevant. Because this first niche site is now freewheeling. I only perform a few actions on this one, so I will very quickly risk boring you 🙁 . But enough talk, let’s go!
Let’s start with a little background to present to you the different actions that I have been able to launch during the last two months. I had listed some of them to achieve during my previous report on the subject. They all focused almost exclusively on SEO and in particular on obtaining links to my sites. As a reminder, by simplifying to the extreme, the more a site has quality links to it, the better it is positioned in the results of the almighty Google. Okay, for the more curious, take a look at the Website & SEO, for example, which addresses the subject on a regular basis. And since we also talk about niche sites, it’s quite nice and you’ll kill two birds with one stone! 🙂
Back to our subject. On the SEO side, I was able to obtain an interesting number of links to my various niche sites by contacting certain bloggers in themes close or similar to those targeted. The results have not yet been felt in terms of SEO, even if some long-tail articles are starting to bring me significant flow of visitors .
Still on SEO, I launched a first service on the subject, on the UpWork platform. I must say that I had some difficulties before finding the right profile. My first order, probably badly written and not precise enough, did not allow me to identify profiles likely to meet my needs. So I finally canceled this first job offer to create a second one that was a little more specific. I also spent some time looking for similar offers that might have already been posted on the site, to inspire me. And good news, I found a freelancer! I have for the moment mainly made him work on a single site, remains to wait some time to see if tangible results emerge from this first experience.
The end of the year is approaching and since there are only a few months left to reach the 500€ gain per month, I found the time to carry out some additional actions to put all the chances on my side.
First thing, I started to find out about other ways to earn money with a site, by looking in particular on the side of existing affiliation platforms, excluding Amazon affiliation. One of the sites that I mentioned in the past months and which brought me around thirty euros very quickly is also based on non-Amazon affiliation. At the end of October and in view of the encouraging results precisely encountered by this site, I launched a second site with the same approach and the same platform.
Beyond the use of another partner to monetize them, these two sites have the particularity of targeting a domain completely distinct from the others. More so, they target keywords with a strong “buy” connotation . These more qualified keywords are certainly much less typed in the search engines, but their conversion rate (ie the number of visits compared to the number of people making a purchase from the site) is much better. To give you an idea, these famous keywords are used barely a few hundred times a month, or even a few dozen times for some!
To give you an example, the keyword “computer” is probably much more searched for than the keyword “buy computer”. But the second will certainly convert much better…
So I launched a new site, while I had forbidden it as long as at least a second site does not generate a few tens of euros on a recurring basis . Has this objective been achieved? We will see this a little later in the article…

But I didn’t stop there. In the last days of October, I launched another site. Am I crazy? Have I no memory? Didn’t I say I was focusing on SEO? I’ll let you answer these few questions as you see fit 😉 , but this last site launched will initially have only one objective: to allow me to publish partner articles in exchange for links. I don’t know if it will work, we’ll see. For the first time in my short career in the internet world, I also acquired an expired NDD, just to try to take advantage of its notoriety and its already existing linking.
Basically, I bought a website address that has been used before and has a few links pointing to it.
Finally, of course, I ordered and published a certain number of articles for my various sites. Almost exclusively for the two affiliate sites mentioned a few lines above.
Almost 1,000 words already and I haven’t talked about my earnings yet. To thank you for reading this far without giving up, we’re finally going to talk numbers! 🙂
Let’s start with September. I am talking about earnings for all of my sites, without distinction. After coming close to the €200 mark in August, the start of the new school year allowed me to generate an income of €392.84. An increase of almost 100% in one month!
At first glance, you could say that I have taken a big step towards my monthly goal of €500. But let’s not cry victory too quickly, because part of this sum is due to specific actions and will not fall into my pocket on a recurring basis. A kind of exceptional bonus therefore.
But let’s not sulk our pleasure, it’s still a nice sum.
Another interesting point, I mentioned in the previous report, and a little earlier in this article, the site which had brought in a little more than thirty euros last August. Well, he brought in another thirty euros in September. So it’s my second site that has repeatedly brought in several tens of euros, champagne! I have great ambitions for the latter…
Let’s logically move on to October. Two great satisfactions are on the program.
The first concerns the site mentioned a few lines above. Earnings of just over €30 in August, just over €30 in September and…. Over €100 in October! The number of visits is up very sharply compared to the previous month, since it has more than doubled. But see for yourself:
I’m also betting a lot on this site in the coming months because:
The second victory of the month is…drum roll…achieving my goal of course! The month of October will therefore be the first month in which I have reached and even exceeded 500€ in earnings . I hope it won’t be the last! It therefore took me 10 months to achieve this objective set at the beginning of the year, one year after the launch of my very first niche site. I won exactly €669.86. Here again, an exceptional cash inflow made it possible to reach this figure, which unfortunately will not fall every month. But it is in any case extremely encouraging for the future.
Finally, one last point of satisfaction over these past two months is the diversification that I have been able to operate:
The risk associated with the loss of income from one of my sites or one of my partners will therefore not render my business inoperative. I also intend to continue the diversification effort in the coming months, but probably not before the start of 2016.
For the next few months, I initially plan to continue the actions launched since the start of the school year, namely to continue to improve the positions of my sites in the search results. I intend to use the same levers as over the past sixty days, namely contacting and subcontracting.
For medium and long term results, I will order about ten articles to feed my expired NDD site. The idea is to give it a professional appearance and clean content to facilitate the exchange of links afterwards. Watch to see how it evolves.
On my first niche site, I will also order a nice burst of articles. I will try to extend it. Understand that I’m going to try to target a theme similar to that targeted so far by the site, to see if I can take advantage of the authority already acquired. Race results in a few months.
It is also very likely that I will order new items for the second site launched recently. So that should keep me busy until the end of the year 🙂 .
We are already at the end of this eventful report. I still have to continue the effort at the end of the year to try to maintain earnings above 500€ monthly. And who knows, maybe I can set myself more ambitious goals for next year… Or not! 🙂
