Blogging challenge #2

Several months ago, I set myself a little blogging challenge. The aim was to publish an article every 2 days for a period of 2 weeks. Beyond the personal objective and the motivating character, the idea was also to attract new visitors . This challenge had allowed the blog to pass a milestone in terms of visits, but growth has since slowed. The fault is largely mine, since I couldn’t take care of the blog as much as I wanted. Blame it on the summer sun and family vacations 🙂 . I hope you don’t mind!

Since the end of July, I again have a little more time to devote to the site and to you, regular or passing visitors. Time that I intend to use to improve your experience on the site and to always offer you more relevant things, at least I hope so. I also try to progress in my organization vis-Ă -vis the site, and even if my methods are probably still far from being optimal, I try to improve myself day by day. And as always, I obviously remain attentive to everyone, because any criticism is welcome. Same thing for your advice, which I would be happy to follow and implement, as far as I can of course! But let’s continue.

Blogging challenge #2

If I have retained anything from these first months of life of the blog (as a reminder, the blog was launched in January 2014), it is the importance of regularly publishing content . Because if the relevance of the information offered is vital , not publishing continuously often rhymes with a drop in attendance. This is probably less true with an older site, but I’m not there yet! 🙂

Several feedbacks from other young actors of the blogosphere confirm me in this trajectory. I am thinking in particular of Nicolas from the ABC Argent blog, who has just shared with his readers his impressive statistics for the month of July, or Maxime from the site Meilleurs Rendements. Two blogs where I invite you to take a look, and which each address similar themes but different from those presented on Optimize My Finances.

For this new blogging challenge, I decided to change things up a bit. After all, the most important thing is not to publish every day, but to publish at regular intervals for a long period of time . As I mentioned above, my previous challenge of this kind corresponded to the posting of a new post every 2 days for 2 weeks. To see the effects of the challenge, the previous time frame was not large enough to be representative. This time, the challenge will last until September 30, 2014 , a little over 8 weeks. The first article, dealing with the different facets of a mortgage, has already been published last Monday, August 11th. The goal will be to publish a new article every 5 days, or 11 articles in all . To give an idea, I had only published 5 articles over the 8 weeks preceding this new challenge. The idea is therefore to double the rate of publication .

This might seem low to some, but 2 reasons think me based on this figure. The first is that the objective must be at least realistic. By increasing the frequency beyond what was mentioned over such a long period, I know in advance that I will not be reaching the target. It’s not pessimistic, I think it’s rather realistic: between my family, the imminent return to school and the work that will resume its cruising speed, going beyond that would not be responsible. The second is that I also don’t want to publish an article that does not present a minimum of interest for you who pass on the blog. Come on, let’s go for 8 weeks of intensive blogging! 🙂

What do you think of this goal? Does it seem realistic to you? Too weak ?
